*I can’t recall whether I’ve posted something like this before, I just feel like writing again. Anyway, I feel like my posts lately have been like repetition of what I’ve done earlier.
What is the most important thing in a teamwork?
For me, it’s the sense of belonging. Yea, not only to public facility, the sense of belonging should also be owned by every team member in order to work his/her best.
In terms of professional issue [whether the work is finished after all members let their best out], every member must accept that he is part of the team and that he is as important as the other members. When he feels like he’s not accepted by the others or others look down on him, then the sense of belonging will not be there. He will just finish everything as he likes it, doesn’t care whether the others like it. If that is the case, communication is always the best solution.
On the other hand, everyone has his own personal life. I found that this is the best way to be able to work together in a team–getting to know each other personally. In general, people tend to feel uncomfortable breaking promises to others who are close with them personally. In other words, when everyone in the team is close to each other, then there will be bigger sense of belonging in every personnel.
However, it is always best to have everything balanced. It’s not good being too close personally because it will affect the professional issue, i.e. you will be too comfortable to delay all the works until the last minute because you can’t say no to the requests. Or the opposite, working in a team together only and not knowing the person as a person are also not good. By balancing both the professional and personal aspects can bring you the best sense of belonging and the best result as well.
