I think it’s a bit too late for 2010 evaluation, but I think this is one step before writing my 2011 resolutions [which, on the 19th day of 2011, haven’t been thought of yet] down. 🙂 I will write it month by month, hopefully won’t be too long since I can’t exactly remember anyway. 😛
January 2010. Good start of the year. Spent the old-and-new at a villa in Puncak with my cousins. Still jobless but I was pretty happy with the fact that Erasmus Mundus called me for interview! I had this interview via Skype on the 29th with two guys from University of Groningen [one from Netherlands and one from India–the Caucasian was very handsome!]. The interview didn’t go well, I didn’t think I impressed them. [Well, it’s proved two weeks later when they emailed me saying that they have to regretfully reject my application–they always said that but even when I applied for the regular program, they won’t accept me. Dang! :(] After the quite stressful interview [I hadn’t used English for 7 months then], I spent the next 2 days in Puncak [again], Junot’s farewell, with several good friends. 🙂 Good start of the year. 🙂
February 2010. Whew. For once in hundreds years [they said so], the Chinese New Year is the same day as Valentine’s. So I spent the morning in my aunt’s house, collecting some money from the so-called hong bao (Chinese terms for “red envelope”) as a symbol of prosperity for the upcoming year and spent the evening somewhere romantic. 😛 At this month, I went to Bandung to see my recommenders again. I was quite busy with Master’s application.
March 2010. I can’t quite recall what happened this month. I was still busy with Master’s stuff, also with the tears [got a lot of argument sessions with my mom regarding this stuff]. Hmm.. the good stuff was that my current employer called me for interview on the 30th and confirmed on the 31th. 🙂
April 2010. Starting from this month, there wasn’t really a thing that I could tell much. Everything went well, but so so. I struggled with the work life, which is different with college life, didn’t know many people at work other than my college friends, but I managed it and found some good friends with whom I can laugh and share things. 🙂 I started working on the 5th.
May 2010. This was a month when my emotion was going up and down. I don’t really want to tell what happened. All I know is I went through many kinds of emotion: upset, sad, super-sad, angry, happy, sad… But now I still thank God for everything that happened. It sure makes me stronger and wiser. 🙂
June 2010. My very first training session at office. I said “mati gaya” to my supervisor. Whatever. 😛
July 2010. (Always and will always be) My favorite month of the year, the month of my birthday. This month my sister was accepted at ITB (Institut Teknologi Bandung), my parents were so happy. I spent the birthday at home, baking some brownies for my colleagues. I also went to Pulau Ayer in Kepulauan Seribu for an “Employee Day” on the 31st. I was helping the committee preparing stuff there. (I also did duck-singing–but this part shouldn’t be discussed here.) I was very happy that I got to know more people from office. 🙂
August 2010. My sister moved to Bandung and started her college life. All the best of luck for her. I spent the Harpitnas (Hari Kejepit Nasional –one day between two holidays where we should’ve been working but instead, we took our leave on the same day and went on vacation) at Dufan. 😀 What a rebel. 😛
September 2010. Yayy!! I went to Kuala Lumpur for an Advance PLC Training. Meeting up with some friends from Malaysia, seeing my cousin in Johor Bahru [and also did some shopping there] and ending up in the Universal Studios in Singapore. :D:D:D That was a good start of the month.
October 2010. Was busy preparing Autotek (Automation Industry Exhibition) with some friends from other teams, spent the last two weeks of the month at a workshop in Jababeka area, but happy by the fact that I was trusted to prepare the PLC part myself. 😀
November 2010. The Autotek was finally there! I didn’t go on the first day–feeling unwell after going home at 2 am on the day, the others went home even later–but thank God, the celebrations were on the 2nd and 3rd day. 😀 Crazily singing in Bandar Djakarta, Ancol, with 4 others. 😛
December 2010. This month is always my second favorite month of the year, when all families are gathering in Jakarta to celebrate Christmas and New Year. The holiday air is everywhere. Aahh.. after the previous December, this December has also been a happy and good month to me. 🙂
In conclusion, 2010 has been a very good year to me. I started it happily and ended it excitedly. 😀 There were some ups and downs, but that’s life, isn’t it? One thing I know for sure is I went through many things that made me wiser and able to see things from other point of view. I thank all families and friends who have helped me really much during this year.
